Product name Update: Introducing the CreateAI Toolkit

We’re excited to announce a major update to the naming and structure of ASU’s core AI tools as we transition to the CreateAI Toolkit — a unified suite designed for clarity, consistency, and future growth.

Here's what's changing: Starting June 30, you’ll begin to see the new names and branding across the platform.

• Model Comparison → CreateAI Compare
• ASU GPT → CreateAI Chat
• MyAI Builder → CreateAI Builder

These changes are part of our commitment to making it easier for the ASU community to recognize, navigate, and utilize our tools as part of a streamlined CreateAI experience.

What’s in the CreateAI Toolkit?

The CreateAI Toolkit represents our evolving AI framework setting a foundation designed to grow alongside the needs of the ASU community.

The new CreateAI Toolkit includes four key components, each serving a unique role:

• CreateAI Compare – Available to everyone
• CreateAI Chat – Available to everyone
• CreateAI Builder – Tailored for faculty and staff use
• CreateAI Platform – Now included as the tactical layer for developers

This unified toolkit not only simplifies naming but also lays the groundwork for the continued expansion of AI tools built by ASU, for ASU.

CreateAI Builder Gets a Major Interface Upgrade

We’ve launched a significant update to CreateAI Builder, bringing a fresh new interface and enhanced functionality to streamline your AI-building experience.

What’s New:

• Redesigned User Interface: A cleaner, more intuitive layout makes it easier to navigate projects, manage agents, and access key features.
• Smarter Guidance: We’re updating the onboarding experience and will soon refresh the AskMe bot and Getting Started guides to reflect these changes.

Why It Matters:

This update lays the foundation for a more powerful and user-friendly CreateAI Builder. Whether you’re designing your first agent or managing complex AI logic, the new interface is designed to help you do it more confidently and efficiently.

We’re currently reviewing and updating legacy content (like the AskMe bot responses) to align with the new experience. If you notice outdated information, feel free to flag it  your feedback helps us improve faster.

Bug Fixes

• Chat sorting improvement: The chat sidebar now automatically sorts conversations based on the most recent activity or edits, rather than the creation date.
• Custom bot names retained: Custom bot names now persist in chat responses and no longer revert to the underlying model name.
• Secure project access: Editors can no longer use project-owner tokens to remove or downgrade owners from unrelated projects.
• Photo response fix: Users can now regenerate responses that include a photo without the chat breaking or disappearing. No need to refresh.

Feature Enhancements

• Improved sharing limits: You can now share your project with up to 30 users at once, up from the previous limit of 10, making collaboration faster and easier.

New Models Available

• We’ve expanded our model lineup with the latest additions: GPT-4.1 Nano and o3.

• Easier Bug Reporting & Feedback (MyAI Builder)
  MyAI Builder now includes a “Report a Problem” form for bug reporting and a “Give Feedback” form for sharing overall experience. Users can add descriptions and attach screenshots to highlight issues clearly.

• Web App Toggle Auto Enable (MyAI Builder)
  New projects automatically enable the Web App toggle for instant previews. For existing projects, the toggle turns on if at least one viewer has access. Clear guidance appears if it’s off.

• Cleaner Project Organization (MyAI Builder)
  Collaborator projects now appear under “Shared Projects” instead of “Your Recent Projects” for better clarity.

• One Click Code Copy (MyAI Builder & ASU GPT)
  Users can copy code from AI responses instantly without manually highlighting.

• Auto Enabled Asset Search (MyAI Builder)
  Uploaded files and URLs now automatically activate Asset Search so your AI uses your data right away.

• Seamless Chat Switching (MyAI Builder)
  Users can switch between chat sessions without loading issues. History stays accessible even after a refresh.

• Smooth Scrolling (MyAI Builder & ASU GPT)
  Users can now scroll freely while responses stream without being forced to the bottom.

• Print Conversations (MyAI Builder & ASU GPT)
  Users can print any chat directly from the menu to easily save or share.

• New Models Added to the Platform

  
  We’ve expanded our model lineup with the latest additions: Claude 3.7 Sonnet, Llama3 405B, Llama3.2 1B, 3B, 11B, and 90B, plus Nova Lite, Nova Micro, and Nova Pro. Also new: Gemini 2 Flash, Flash Lite, Flash Pro, and O3 Mini.

• Seamless Navigation Across CreateAI Apps: Users can now seamlessly click on links within MAB to access other CreateAI Lab apps like Model Comparison and ASU GPT.
• Updated all tooltips/help messages to user-friendly language including publishing project, enabling knowledge base. 
• Enabled LLM API output to a structured format for models that support it.
• Enhanced MyAI Builder interface with improved user guidance on how to build an AI project. 
• Added new models to the platform: Gemini 2.0. Deprecated Gemini 1.0.
• Fixed error with file upload toggle not saving.
• Fixed errors with displaying math symbols in AI input/output.

Product Release Notes - January 2025

• Improved Access Control for Private Bots: Private bots are now hidden from unauthorized users, and access is denied if permissions are not granted. 
• Enhanced Collaborator Management: Users can now search, filter, sort, and bulk-select collaborators in the Share Panel, making it easier to manage access and permissions efficiently. 
• Dynamic Model Management: Model configurations are now fetched from the backend, eliminating hardcoded constants and reducing manual updates for a smoother, more reliable experience.
• Starred projects appears at the top of project list. 
• Automated Welcome Emails for New Users: New users now receive a welcome email upon gaining access to any CreateAI Toolkit product, providing login details, access links, and support resources for a seamless onboarding experience.
