AI Advisory Committee

Artificial intelligence (AI) is poised to transform every aspect of the world we inhabit, from how we learn, create value, and find meaning to the very institutions and principles that underpin society. As the transformative power of AI continues to grow, public universities such as ASU have a critical role in equipping and guiding society to thrive through the coming technological transition.

Guided by the ASU Charter, ASU is uniquely positioned to operate as a global leader at the nexus of AI and cutting-edge research, education, utilization, and public impact. In addition to being at the forefront of redefining the nature and purpose of a public university in the 21st century, ASU’s faculty, staff, and students represent deep and transdisciplinary expertise at the intersection of AI, society, and the future. By strategically approaching the socially beneficial and transformative development and use of AI, ASU has the opportunity to become a national and global leader in forward-thinking and positively transformative AI development.

The charter of the ASU AI Advisory Committee is to strategically inform and support the growth and impact of the institution’s expertise and work around AI as a public enterprise. ASU’s goals are to leverage the insights and wisdom of the advisory committee with the aim of providing national and global leadership in the development of societally beneficial and transformative AI understanding, tools, technologies, and platforms.
