We're excited to share the latest improvements to CreateAI! This release focuses on making it easier to get started, discover CreateAI experiences, and build AI project assistants faster.

Expanded student access with spending safeguards

CreateAI opened to students at broader scale in September, supported by automatic cost controls that help keep spending within set limits.
Project spending limits: Individual projects can have their own limits, managed separately from general usage limits.
Automatic shut-off: Usage stops when a spending limit is reached, helping prevent unexpected costs.
Usage monitoring: Reporting identifies spending and proximity to limits, helping support reach out to users approaching their thresholds.
Students also receive a welcome splash to review Responsible AI use mini-courses and acknowledge ASU’s digital trust guidelines.

Track project spending and monthly limits

The new Usage view gives students, faculty and staff a clearer picture of their activity and spending.
Monthly project activity: See the projects you’ve used this month, sorted by usage.
Project cost details: Review each active project’s monthly budget or limit, percentage used and month-to-date spending.
To find it, sign in to your CreateAI dashboard, click your profile and select Usage. The usage limits guide provides more information about costs and access.

More model and transcription options

Expanded model selection: Added Nova 2 Lite, Muse Glimmer 30B, GPT-6 Astra, Gemini 3.7 Flash, Claude 5.5 Opus, GPT-6 Luna, GPT-6 Sol and Grok 4.6.
Additional developer options: Added GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT Image 2.5 through the API.
Updated Gemini support: Migrated projects from retiring Gemini 2.5 models to Gemini 3.
New transcription option: Added Whisper v3 for audio transcription.

Faster video processing and updated web search

Faster video indexing: Videos become ready for use sooner in Knowledge Bases and when added directly to a conversation.
Updated web search integration: Replaced the service powering web search in CreateAI.

Easier, more secure API administration

Centralized key management: Administrators can now manage API key requests and revoke access directly in the Admin page.
Easier request navigation: Improved search, pagination and layout help administrators find and manage requests.
Clearer spending information: Added usage metrics, request details and monthly cost information.
Project-specific capacity: Administrators can adjust each project’s token-per-minute limits.

More reliable reporting and support

More dependable reporting data: Improvements help teams use current, accurate data without manual reconciliation.
Improved issue investigation: Expanded monitoring and new troubleshooting tools help the team diagnose problems.
More developer guidance: Added documentation recipes and an in-house tokenizer tool to help developers understand token usage.

Limited beta releases

CreateAI assistant in Canvas: Selected beta users can connect CreateAI to Canvas and take actions through the assistant.
Unified access to ASU systems: The new MCP Gateway gives approved AI clients a shared, governed connection to ASU systems. Integrations can be configured once, with access rules managed centrally.
ServiceNow bot: Enabled a new ServiceNow bot for beta users.
