Google Gemini for Education is a collection of generative AI tools designed to support teaching, learning, and administrative innovation in higher education. It enables faculty, students, and staff to streamline workflows, develop personalized and engaging learning experiences, and explore new ideas with confidence. Whether used for lesson planning, ideation, research, or skill development, Gemini for Education offers a secure and private environment that fosters creativity, efficiency, and academic growth.


Who can use this product?

As of Fall 2025, ASU students, faculty, and staff can use Gemini for Education at no cost.

Quick steps to start using Google Gemini

  1. Gemini for Education has multiple apps available for use. Choose which app you would like to use. 
    1. NotebookLM
    2. Gemini 

      (includes Google Deep Research, Google Canvas, and Gemini Chat) 

  2. Sign in with your ASU email address and ASURITE credentials.  
  3. Explore integrated features such as document summarization, drafting, and research assistance.
  4. For any course or student-related work, make sure you are logged in with your ASU account for data protection.

Gemini for Google Workspace interactions comply with strict privacy standards. Gemini for Google Workspace is safe for ASU data and is FERPA compliant. Gemini for Google Workspace will not use any data, prompts, or responses for any AI training.
