No. Microsoft 365 Copilot requires a department-funded license. It is available to ASU faculty and staff by request with approval from a supervisor or business operations manager. Students can also gain access if sponsored and funded by an ASU department. Copilot Chat remains available to current ASU students, faculty, and staff.

Microsoft 365 Copilot brings AI directly into Microsoft 365 applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. It also provides access to features like Copilot Studio, agents, and AI experiences grounded in your Microsoft 365 work data.
 

Yes. Microsoft 365 Copilot can use the Microsoft 365 content you already have permission to access, including email, to provide more relevant responses
 

Data privacy

Microsoft 365 Copilot is approved for ASU non-regulated, internal, and FERPA-protected data. It is not approved for HIPAA or other regulated data types. No ASU data, prompts, or responses are used to train the vendor's models.
